DEFINITION: A revolt against a command and/or law (national, moral, or religious).

ALT. WORDS: Rebellion, sin, or trespass.

NOTE: What is sin? According to 1 John 3:4, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. "

What is the law? The law was established between Y'Israel and Yahuah through the prophet Moses on Mount Sinai. The law today is called the Torah (תּוֹרָה) which means direction, instruction, law. The Torah is considered the first five books of the Bible.

Is the law done away with? When Yohanan (John) said, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Yahuah, and the Word was Yahuah. The same was in the beginning with Yahuah. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:1-3), He was saying that Yeshua was the Word. The word is Torah.

Yahuah's Word is literally holding heaven and earth together. With out His Word, nothing would exist. Even Yeshua said, " For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled" (Matthew 5:18). Last time I checked, judgement day has not occurred...yet.

See the blog post entitled "The Way..." for more information about what Yeshua really meant when He said that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
